October 19 – 26, 2025
Travel to the boot heel of Italy and arrive at the center of simple pleasures. Our destination for this fall yoga retreat is the sublime land and soft light of Southern Italy, where we’ll restore the body, invigorate the breath, fortify community and connection and indulge in the most delicious Italian cuisine. If you love yoga poses – and pasta – this one is for you! Together we’ll practice in stunning spaces, dine under arched patios, with fruiting fig trees, meander through olive groves and labyrinths of lavender, swim in the warm waters of the Ionian sea, and yes, we’ll eat – garden grown meals, from farm to fork, handmade in Mediterranean tradition and cooked with soulful care.
Our home for the week is an Architectural Digest featured boutique hotel. Immersed in the rustic landscape with classic Italian allure, we’ll stay at a beautifully restored 16th-century Masseria farmhouse. Family owned and run, the Tommasino’s kept the historic estate’s whitewashed walls and cultivated new spacious accommodations, gorgeously furnished, with elegant modern comforts. Fragrant citrus trees and nature reserves surround the grounds, and warm hospitality infuses every space. Close to Puglia’s best beaches, the property offers ample luxurious patios, outdoor baths, a picturesque pool, separate spa and breezes sail straight off the coast. The New York Times asks: “What is so seductive about Puglia?” And answered: “Gold-hued towns, renowned for pastries, pottery and orecchiette pasta, the spectacular sea, with enchanting emerald and turquoise waters, and sunsets from the movies.”
In the essence of southern Italian luxury and authenticity, this spot is not easily found on vacation websites, our paradise in Puglia is a word-of-mouth, hidden jewel, only for those in the know.
Our days begin with grounding yoga practices, followed by delicious food, free time to dip into the splendid swimming pool, schedule an onsite massage in the spa or discover nearby towns and beaches. Late afternoon Playshops (like a workshop but more fun) are dedicated to laughter, exploration and luxuriating in restorative yoga. Dinner will be served at long tables, under the ficus and bougainvillea porches.
One afternoon we’ll take a cooking class (then eat and enjoy what we made together). Mid-week we’ll head to the beach for a picnic lunch and splash in the Ionian Sea. Another afternoon will be free to visit nearby towns: Leece, Ostuni, Alberbello, Grottaglie or simply relax by the pool. That evening we’ll take a long walk under the New Moon.
The Apulian landscape is an ideal place to slide into a slower pace of life, embodied by the region. As we move through connective practices, resource from surrounding fields and nature reserves, nourish with good friends and good food, reflective insight, creative visions, clarity and ease emerge. You will leave feeling restored and fed, on the deepest levels.
Delights abound beginning with garden grown, organic ingredients, sourced straight from the land, to celebrations of the family’s homemade wine and olive oil. Savor three divine meals a day, cooked by private in-house chefs and prepared with love. Menus highlight the delectable abundance of local fields, orchards and vineyards. Long tables under twinkling lights, designed for forging new friendships and adoring old ones.
All levels and bodies are welcome. No prior experience needed. You belong here.

If you’re traveling alone or with a friend, the easiest option for most people is to rent a car. If you don’t feel comfortable renting a car (or just don’t want to), I can try to pair you with someone else arriving at the same time, so you can drive together. Renting a car in Puglia is extremely easy & affordable. During our stay and before or after the retreat, I recommend a couple nights in Lecce or around Ostuni or any number of other charming towns.
Arrive at the property by or after 2pm on October 19th and leave after breakfast on October 26th. (Transfers to/from airport are available and I can help coordinate and connect people to ride share if needed). Welcome Circle @ 5pm. Dinner @ 7pm. Enjoy an after dinner restorative practice to prepare for serene night sleep.
Departure October 26th after breakfast. Check out by 10am.
If you’re coming alone and want to share a room, let me know on your registration form and I’ll do my best to match you with a yogi of the same gender. If a roOMie is not available, you may be partnered into a triple, which could offer a discounted room rate. Alternately you may be offered a private room, available at a higher rate. All options will be communicated directly with you prior to your departure.
Yes. The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is a new visa waiver program launched in 2025. Travelers from visa-exempt countries, including the U.S., who travel to countries within the Schengen Area will need to obtain an online travel authorization. For more information and to stay up to date on the ETIAS program, please visit their website.
Purchasing Travel Insurance is strongly recommended to protect against any events that may prevent or interrupt your travels. Without insurance, any costs to change or cancel travel plans is entirely yours.
Though I cannot advise on specific travel insurance policies, many credit card companies offer coverage for flights, lost luggage and car rental. Looking at plans from reputable providers might offer more comprehensive or customized coverage. One travel agency suggests Travelex (though I have not tested them myself). The FAQ section at the bottom of their website can be helpful. Note that to guarantee maximum coverage, most travel insurance providers require that you obtain a policy within 10 – 15 days of placing your initial deposit.
Gratuities are not included in the price of your trip. Gratuities are shared by staff, housekeeping or other employees helping you throughout the week, and an additional tip is always appreciated. Consider a budget of around $10/day per guest.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot on the retreat. The final balance payment is due by July 19, 2025. If you cancel before the final balance deadline, any payments you have made will be returned, minus the non-refundable deposit.
If you cancel 60 days prior to the start of the retreat (August 20th), you will receive a 50% refund. For cancellations within 60 days, you will not receive a refund.
If you wish to cancel your participation in this retreat, that change must be put in writing to email: clio@clioyoga.com
